The 23rd Annual Conference of the Internationale Draeseke Gesellschaft took place Friday, 19 June 2009, through Sunday, 21 June 2009, in Coburg, Bad Rodach, and Meiningen. Featured was the premiere performance of Draeseke's Violin Concerto (in the piano and violin version) and a performance of Draeseke's Adagio, adapted from the Violin Concerto, by Hans Benda. Program in Bad Rodach: 20 June 2009
Lecture and concert in the Festsaal of the Jagdschloss in Bad Rodach regarding Draeseke's Violin Concerto. Lectures by Alan Krueck (USA) and Wolfgang Müller-Steinbach with musical examples along with a complete performance of the Adagio for Violin and Piano adapted by Hans Benda from the second movement of Draeseke's Violin Concerto.
Concert in the Schloss Elisabethenburg of Meiningen: Schlosskirche, Brahms-Saal. Works of Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Draeseke including the premiere of Draeseke's Violin Concerto WoO 15 with Julia Röntz, violin and Wolfgang Müller-Steinbach, piano. The Meiningen Schlosskirche was also the place of the premiere of Brahms' Fourth Symphony under the composer's direction in 1885.
