Naomi Gjvere is Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Wyoming and a founding member of the Lindsayan String Quartet. During the summers she is on the violin faculty at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. Dr. Gjevre has participated in several music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, The Quartet Program, the Festival Internacional de la Cultura in Sucre, Bolivia, among others. Her DM degree is from Florida State University 2002. Javier Pinell is Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Wyoming and a founding member of the Lindsayan String Quartet. During the summers he is on the violin faculty at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. As a scholar, Dr. Pinell has done pioneer research work on compositions for the violin by contemporary Bolivian composers. He released a disc recording: Bolivia: The Unknown Sounds in 1998. Appearances at festivals include the Echternach Festival in Luxemburg, the Mosel Musik Festival in Germany, the Festival Internacional de la Cultura in Sucre, Bolivia, among others. His DM degree is from Florida State University 1999. James Przygocki is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Wyoming where he teaches viola, violin, and music education courses. He is also principal violist with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, teaches at the String Academy of Wyoming, and is Director of the University of Wyoming String Project. In the summers Mr. Przygocki is on the faculty at Indiana University Summer String Academy. Mr. Przygocki is active as a performer, conductor and clinician. He has recorded for CRI and his viola transcriptions have been published by One World Strings. John Thomson was born in England and grew up in New Zealand. In 1985 he came to the USA as a Fulbright scholar and with a Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship. Thomson completed his doctoral degree in 1990, including a dissertation on Gypsy violin music. He has performed as soloist with orchestras throughout the USA and New Zealand and was concertmaster of several professional orchestras. He teaches violin and viola at the University of South Dakota and is violinist in the Rawlins Piano Trio with whom he has recorded several CDs of American music. Barbara Thiem teaches cello and chamber music on the faculty of the University of Wyoming and is artist-in-residence at Colorado State University. Her degrees are from Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Cologne, Germany and Indiana University. Ms. Thiem is active as soloist and chamber musician in the United State and Europe. She is a member of the Mendelssohn Trio. In addition to concertising, she has recorded for many radio stations and has produced several cds, among others Draeseke’s cello compositions (AK/Coburg DR 0002). She has also published in the fields of cello technique and medical research. Richard Rognstad has been at the University of South Dakota since 1986, where he conducts the University of South Dakota Orchestra and teaches bass. Active as guest conductor and clinician, he has led orchestras in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wyoming. He has concertized extensively in the USA and has been a member of the Rawlins Trio. An expert in American music history he has published articles and contributed liner notes and reviews widely. NOTE: The Stelzner instruments used by the Summit Chamber Players for the present recordings were brought together and placed at the disposal of the artists through the personal initiative of Dr. James Christensen of Iowa City, Iowa. Thomson hat mit vielen Orchestern in den USA und New Zealand Solo gespielt und war Konzertmeister bei mehreren professionellen Orchestern. Seit 1994 ist er Professor an der University of South Dakota und Mitglied des Rawlins Piano Trios, mit dem er mehrere Cds amerikanischer Kammermusik aufgenommen hat. Barbara Thiem unterrichtet Cello und Kammermusik an der University of Wyoming und ist Artist-in-Residence an der Colorado State University. Ihre Ausbildung ist von der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Köln und der Indiana University. Frau Thiem ist viel gefragt als Solistin und Kammermusikerin in den USA und Europa. Sie ist Mitglied des Mendelssohn Trios. Zusätztlich zu Konzerten hat sie viele Funkaufnahmen gemacht und mehrere CDs eingespielt, u.a. die Werke Draesekes für Cello and Klavier (Ak/Coburg DR 0002). Sie hat auch mehrere Artikel veröffentlicht auf dem Gebiet der Cellotechnik und Medizin. Richard Rognstad ist seit 1986 Professor an der University of South Dakota, wo er das Orchester dirigiert und Bass unterrichtet. Er ist gefragt als Dirigent in South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota und Florida. Er konzertiert in vielen Teilen der USA und war Mitglied des Rawlins Piano Trios. Er ist Experte für amerikanische Musik und hat viele Artikel veröffentlicht, zusätzlich zu Cd - Einspielungen mit dem Trio.
